Job Description
Senior DevOps Engineer leading AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and CI/CD infrastructure for Veriforce’s contractor-risk management SaaS platform. Managing DevOps engineers and improving production reliability for global customers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, delivery, and operation of developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code
- Deploy, monitor, and operate software across key production systems serving tens of thousands of customers
- Manage and mentor a team of DevOps engineers
- Run standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
- Provide technical thought leadership in collaboration with Architecture, SecOps, Data Engineering, and Development
- Partner with developers and product teams to capture tooling, automation, and infrastructure requirements
- Translate requirements into actionable stories and designs
- Design, implement, and maintain continuous delivery systems
- Advise development teams on code and implementation to improve application resiliency, operability, and best practices
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code for development and production environments, focusing on Kubernetes and Kafka
- Design, implement, and maintain observability and monitoring solutions
- Monitor system health and take action to maintain uptime and performance SLAs
- Report to the DevOps Manager
Requirements:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in DevOps in a SaaS environment
- Expertise in distributed systems, including container orchestration, distributed messaging, and distributed databases, with an emphasis on Kubernetes and Kafka
- Expertise in cloud platforms, primarily AWS
- Expertise in infrastructure-as-code languages, with a focus on Terraform and Ansible
- Expertise in automated deployment methodologies, especially Jenkins and GitHub Actions
- Prior professional application development experience, particularly with SaaS applications and web development
- Knowledge of software engineering and design principles, including design patterns, architectural patterns, CAP Theorem, and event-driven architecture
- Security-minded at all levels
- Experience with NGINX, networking, and security preferred
- Experience with NoSQL and/or Big Data technologies preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL preferred
- Experience with C# and .NETCore preferred
