Job Description
Senior Director leading Adaptive Biotechnologies’ real-world evidence strategy and data platform. Building teams, partnerships, and rigorous studies to demonstrate clinical and commercial product value.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Adaptive Biotechnologies’ Real-world Evidence team
- Build, shape, and leverage Adaptive’s real-world data strategy to support, validate, and describe the scientific and clinical value of its products
- Establish Adaptive as a leader in rigorous, reproducible, and regulatory-grade evidence generation
- Define the vision, priorities, and roadmap for Adaptive’s real-world data platform and evidence generation
- Build the cross-functional team and partnerships needed to execute the real-world data strategy
- Partner with Product Management, IT Engineering, R&D, Medical Affairs, Customer Operations, Market Access, Commercial Technology Strategy, and Legal
- Lead strategy for using real-world data to unlock the clinical and commercial value of Adaptive products
- Shape enterprise data strategy and identify opportunities for corporate growth, market differentiation, and strategic partnerships
- Define and own evidence roadmaps supporting clinical decision-making, regulatory and payor engagement, market access, and physician adoption
- Translate product, clinical, and commercial priorities into RWE strategies, study concepts, data requirements, analytic approaches, timelines, and resourcing needs
- Prioritize initiatives across disease indications and external pharmaceutical partnership opportunities
- Build, lead, and develop an organization of RWE Analysts and data engineers
- Manage functional operating budgets, external data investments, technology investments, and strategic partnership spend
- Define data requirements, data models, and governance needs for priority real-world data use cases
- Guide development and curation of internal and external real-world data sources, including clinical data partnerships and linked datasets
- Oversee statistical analysis plans and analytic approaches for RWE studies
- Ensure studies meet standards for reproducibility, transparency, scientific rigor, and stakeholder relevance
- Translate study results into scientific and business recommendations
- Develop presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, and external-facing materials
- Represent Adaptive externally as a thought leader in real-world data and evidence generation
- Establish team goals, provide coaching and feedback, and foster belonging, respect, and open communication
Requirements:
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in biostatistics, epidemiology, health economics, bioinformatics, data science, or a related quantitative field
- 14+ years of experience with an MS, or 10+ years with a PhD, in real-world data, healthcare data strategy, diagnostics, or life sciences
- Experience managing subordinate managers
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute a real-world data strategy supporting clinical, scientific, regulatory, payor, commercial, and external partnership objectives
- Experience building and leading cross-functional teams across product, analytics, engineering, scientific, and business functions
- Deep understanding of real-world data sources, including electronic health records, health information exchange data, insurance claims data, registries, genomic data, and linked data sets
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, build stakeholder alignment, and move complex initiatives from strategy through execution
- Expertise in data quality assessment, validation, governance, and curation workflows
- Ability to build and maintain reproducible coding practices and scalable analytic processes
- Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with executive, technical, scientific, clinical, commercial, and external partner audiences
