Job Description
Senior Engagement Manager providing leadership for cloud modernization programs. Serving as the main contact with AWS Professional Services and State of Maryland stakeholders in multiple workstreams.
Responsibilities:
- Own overall engagement scope, schedule, budget, and delivery outcomes across multiple workstreams
- Serve as the primary point of contact for AWS Professional Services and State of Maryland sponsors
- Manage engagement governance, reporting, and executive communications
- Maintain and actively manage the program risk register
- Oversee change control processes and ensure alignment with approved Levels of Effort (LOE)
- Coordinate cross-workstream dependencies, including database conversion and application modernization activities
- Identify, escalate, and mitigate delivery risks and blockers
- Drive stakeholder alignment and decision-making throughout the engagement lifecycle
- Ensure delivery milestones, quality standards, and client expectations are consistently met
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience delivering complex software modernization, digital transformation, or cloud migration programs
- Proven success managing large-scale, multi-team engagements valued at $3M+ or greater
- Experience delivering projects within public sector, state government, or highly regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of project financials, Statements of Work (SOWs), Levels of Effort (LOEs), and change management processes
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management and program governance
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- Sufficient technical understanding to evaluate estimates and delivery approaches related to: .NET application modernization, database migration and conversion initiatives, cross-platform dependency management
