Job Description
Senior Engineering Manager leading Mercury’s Custody team. Scaling ledgers, reconciliation, and securities infrastructure for the fintech company’s Treasury and Invest products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, hire, and develop a team of senior engineers
- Provide thoughtful feedback and build a trusting and supportive environment
- Own the team’s technical strategy and roadmap
- Translate Mercury’s investment ambitions into focused priorities and predictable delivery
- Guide the design and evolution of cash and securities ledgers, security master service, position tracking, and reconciliation systems
- Partner with product, investment operations, and compliance to translate business and regulatory requirements into systems, operational controls, and auditable workflows
- Collaborate with Product and Partnerships on integrations, responsibilities, and technical roadmaps
- Set standards for correctness, reliability, and incident response
- Balance new capabilities with maintenance and improvement of critical systems
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience managing highly technical teams
- Direct experience building or operating RIA and broker-dealer custody systems at scale
- Experience with ledgers, security master service, cash and securities reconciliation, and money movement
- Understanding of the broker-dealer operating model and data flow across introducing brokers, clearing firms, and custodians
- Experience working closely with compliance and operations teams
- Understanding of securities lifecycle, settlement, and corporate actions
- Understanding of customer cash and positions across equities, fixed income, ETFs, and mutual funds
