Job Description
Senior AI Engineer embedding with clinical, product, and operations teams. Shipping validated, monitored AI features for Prenuvo’s proactive whole-body healthcare platform.
Responsibilities:
- Embed with one or two teams per cycle and own each AI solution end to end, from intake brief to a shipped, monitored production feature
- Decide whether to build, wrap, or vet each initiative and set the validation bar
- Build the agentic layer, including tool and function calling, RAG, MCP integrations, multi-step orchestration, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints
- Architect on the Prenuvo AI platform, including shared model serving, AWS Bedrock foundation-model contracts, evaluation harnesses, monitoring, tool registry, and prompt guardrails
- Define acceptance criteria, offline and online evaluations, and escalation triggers before building
- Run initiatives through AI intake and risk categorization processes
- Design solutions to governance standards while Regulatory, Privacy, and Legal provide formal sign-off
- Leave reusable assets such as validated templates, registered tools, or reference architectures
- Raise AI fluency through design reviews and office hours
- Enable more teams to ship AI features independently using templates and champions
Requirements:
- Six or more years building and delivering product-grade software
- Track record of shipping AI-powered features to production, including LLM and/or imaging using tool calling, RAG, or agent orchestration
- Experienced full-stack developer
- Probabilistic-software literacy, including model evaluation and reasoning about failure modes
- Judgment and standing to hold a validation bar with senior clinical, product, and engineering stakeholders
- Product delivery instincts, including scoping fuzzy requests and translating product needs into validated designs
- Strong Python skills
- Practical cloud engineering and deployment experience, including APIs; AWS and Bedrock ideally
- Comfort working directly inside another team's codebase
- Hands-on experience with modern evaluation frameworks and human-in-the-loop design
- Experience building evaluation harnesses and acceptance criteria
- Legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of hire and must not require employer sponsorship for a work visa, currently or in the future
- Successful candidates must undergo a background check
- Nice to have: experience in regulated, clinical, or healthcare-data environments, FDA, Health Canada, ISO 13485, or equivalent, and comfort working with PHI
- Nice to have: AWS and Bedrock specifically
- Nice to have: MCP or experience building tool/function interfaces
- Nice to have: consulting, solutions architecture, or forward-deployed experience
