Job Description

Senior FP&A Manager guiding marketing planning, funnel economics, and investment decisions. Helping n8n, an AI workflow automation company, scale PLG and SLG growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the forward-looking financial plan for n8n’s marketing top and mid funnel across PLG and SLG motions
  • Drive annual planning and regular Marketing forecasting end to end, including targets, cross-functional alignment, regional segmentation, budget ownership, and consolidation into the company plan
  • Partner with Marketing budget owners across demand generation, brand, community and DevRel, product marketing, and events
  • Own program spend, including agency and media contracts, event and sponsorship commitments, phasing, seasonality, and in-year reallocations
  • Model demand creation, signup and MQL volume, activation, qualified opportunity, conversion, and velocity with Marketing Ops and RevOps
  • Translate funnel and channel levers into demand assumptions for n8n’s integrated top-line model and quantify financial impacts and trade-offs
  • Assess CAC, payback, conversion, pipeline contribution, and expected versus realized ROI using attribution, incrementality testing, and other causal methods where appropriate
  • Establish a repeatable framework for material marketing investments, including hypotheses, baselines, expected returns, confidence ranges, leading indicators, scale-or-stop triggers, and post-investment reviews
  • Build and defend investment cases for brand, community, content, events, and other spend not cleanly attributable to closed revenue
  • Use internal evidence, external benchmarks, and post-investment learnings to guide reallocations
  • Partner with Marketing Ops, RevOps, Data, and Controlling to align financial, attribution, measurement, and reporting frameworks
  • Own financial metric definitions behind Marketing reporting
  • Turn financial reporting and variance analysis into insights and recommendations for Marketing leadership, executives, and board-level audiences
  • Work closely with Marketing leadership and counterpart FP&A Managers covering PLG and SLG bottom-of-funnel activities

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in FP&A or strategic finance, ideally in a fast-paced technology or B2B SaaS environment
  • Experience leading complex, multi-entity, multi-stakeholder annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes end to end
  • Deep demand-side finance partnering experience in either a self-serve/PLG funnel or enterprise/SLG demand-generation motion, plus strong working understanding of the other
  • Fluency in CAC and CAC payback by channel and motion, blended versus paid CAC, CLV/CAC, pipeline attribution, funnel conversion, and velocity
  • Experience building and defending investment cases for brand, community, content, or similar unattributable spend
  • Experience owning program spend, including commitments, phasing, seasonality, agency costs, vendor economics, and reallocations
  • Ability to build sophisticated, integrated financial models robust to changing assumptions, scenarios, and operating inputs
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations and present to Marketing leadership, executives, and board audiences when needed
  • AI- and automation-first mindset, including use of platforms such as n8n
  • Company language is English
  • For countries other than Germany, existing right to work is required; Germany visa sponsorship may be available
  • Nice to have: experience across both PLG and SLG motions
