Job Description

Senior Full-Stack Engineer building Perci Health’s virtual cancer-clinic platform. Shaping AI-assisted engineering practices for safer, regulated cancer-care software.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and ship features end to end, from data model and API design through to frontend implementation
  • Design and build robust, scalable APIs in TypeScript and Node.js, published in OpenAPI format
  • Architect resilient distributed systems and third-party integrations, with sound error handling, failure mode mitigation and transaction control
  • Work with FHIR R4 resources and clinical data models within Medplum
  • Contribute to the frontend rewrite from Flutter to React

  • Own testing and contribute to QA and DevOps work

  • Write precise specifications that AI agents can implement and engineers can verify
  • Consider verification, failure modes, risk-based review, monitoring, alerting, incident response and automated pre-release verification
  • Help determine where agent-authored changes can be released directly to production
  • Set standards and define engineering practices for AI-assisted development

Requirements:

  • Around 6+ years building software end to end, ideally in TypeScript, Node.js and React; adjacent stacks considered where fundamentals are strong
  • Substantial system design and architecture experience with production systems
  • Practical distributed-systems and third-party-integration experience, including auth, webhooks, rate limits, retry strategies, fault tolerance and transaction management
  • Strong testing ability and practice
  • Experience using AI coding agents on production work and an informed view of their strengths and limitations
  • Experience working in a small team with incomplete requirements
  • Ability to write precise system descriptions and specifications
  • Clear and confident communication in a fully remote environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Motivation to build products that benefit people
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as healthcare or finance
  • Familiarity with FHIR R4 or other healthcare data standards and Medplum or similar platforms
  • AWS infrastructure experience
  • Some Flutter exposure
  • Startup, scale-up or founding-engineer experience is useful
  • Interest in software craft through writing, open-source contributions or community involvement is desirable

Benefits:

  • 30 days of annual leave per year, in addition to UK statutory and public holidays
  • 3 days paid annually to volunteer with a charity or community group of your choice
