Job Description
Senior Full Stack Java Engineer building Java, Spring Boot, and Angular products at Applaudo. Developing scalable APIs, reactive interfaces, and AI-powered business solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and debug new product features end-to-end across the Java backend API layer and Angular frontend
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Java 21 and Spring Boot
- Work with PostgreSQL, MyBatis, and Liquibase for database access and schema changes
- Implement and maintain Redis-based caching strategies for performance and session management
- Build reactive Angular 19 components using RxJS and client-defined UI frameworks
- Write unit and E2E tests focused on critical business logic
- Use AWS S3, ECS, CloudWatch, and Bedrock for storage, deployment, observability, and AI integrations
- Communicate feature complexity and scope changes before committing to delivery timelines
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and weekly client-facing meetings
- Partner with peer engineers to shape workflows and maintain code quality
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience
- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- Meaningful backend experience in Java using Spring Boot or a comparable framework
- Solid working knowledge of Java 21 and modern Spring Boot patterns, including dependency injection, REST controllers, service layers, and configuration management
- Hands-on Angular experience, v14+ to Angular 19 strongly preferred
- Production experience with RxJS for reactive state and data flows
- SQL knowledge including PostgreSQL, joins, indexing, and query fundamentals
- Experience with MyBatis, Hibernate, or a similar ORM
- Understanding of mapped queries versus direct SQL execution
- Production familiarity with Redis for caching or pub/sub patterns
- Hands-on AWS experience with S3, ECS, and CloudWatch
- Strong testing discipline and ability to write and run comprehensive unit/E2E tests
- Ability to estimate backend feature complexity accurately and flag scope changes early
- Ability to navigate large existing codebases and resolve ambiguity independently
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Java 21 and Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with Angular 19, RxJS, and TypeScript
- Active use of AI tools in day-to-day development workflow
- Advanced English proficiency
