Job Description

Senior full-stack engineer building Acorns’ social savings and organic growth features across mobile, web, and backend systems. Owning referral mechanics, engagement loops, real-time interactions, and analytics for millions of users.

Responsibilities:

  • Build referral systems, social sharing flows, engagement loops, and real-time features driving Acorns’ organic growth
  • Own features end-to-end from data model through shipped customer experience across mobile and web
  • Deliver features across iOS, Android, Web, and backend services
  • Define analytics events, build visibility, and use data to iterate quickly
  • Own technical architecture and engineering quality standards
  • Partner directly with the CEO, Senior Product Manager, and Senior Product Designer
  • Build social graphs, engagement systems, notification infrastructure, referral mechanics, and real-time interactions
  • Design data models, write APIs, ship clients, and monitor production features
  • Create products serving millions of people investing and saving through Acorns

Requirements:

  • Experience building social or engagement systems at scale, including feeds, referral flows, notification infrastructure, social graphs, or real-time interactions
  • End-to-end full-stack feature ownership, including data modeling, API development, client implementation, and production monitoring
  • Production feature delivery across more than one of iOS, Android, and Web, with depth in at least one platform
  • Experience instrumenting growth or engagement features with analytics events and using data to guide iteration
  • Experience working in a fast-moving, low-process environment with self-directed execution
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Copilot, or similar code-generation tools
  • Production coding experience or exposure in at least two of Swift, Kotlin, React Native, TypeScript, Dart, and Python
  • Experience serving millions of users
  • Demonstrated initiative through building a side project, open-source tool, or game mechanic
