Job Description

Senior HR specialist managing APAC employee relations and employee exits for Remote, a global employment platform. Advising clients on compliant terminations, workplace concerns, and lifecycle process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision
  • Provide guidance on termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, redundancy processes, and other HR matters
  • Lead client and external employee meetings, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, separation and settlement negotiations, and termination outcomes
  • Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations
  • Coordinate with payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions, and other stakeholders
  • Draft, tailor, and administer termination and supplementary documents
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations
  • Process offboarding in Remote’s internal HRIS platform
  • Provide first-level Employee Relations support and guidance on workplace concerns
  • Conduct preliminary assessments of workplace concerns and identify applicable regulations and potential paths forward
  • Track and monitor employee relations cases and coordinate follow-up
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on offboarding and first-level employee relations matters
  • Mentor and guide more junior team members
  • Drive process improvements, automation, product development, and customer and employee experience improvements
  • Determine methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments

Requirements:

  • Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with generalist HR competencies and employee-lifecycle exposure
  • Proven experience independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance
  • Experience providing HR advice on employment laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions
  • Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline, and workplace investigation fundamentals
  • Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments and analyze complex HR issues
  • Ability to research issues, develop usable team resources, provide practical solutions, and communicate recommendations
  • Superior communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to independently lead difficult conversations toward positive outcomes
  • Business-level (advanced) written and spoken English proficiency
  • Aptitude for process innovation, optimization, automation, and best-practice implementation
  • Strong operational efficiency, record-keeping, and data-integrity awareness
  • Tech-savvy and able to collaborate asynchronously using various tools and adapt to evolving systems
  • Ability to work autonomously and cohesively in a fast-paced, international, asynchronous remote environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
  • Proactive, self-motivated, accountable, and able to inspire others
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law are a plus, not required
