Job Description
Pindrop engineering leader overseeing cloud authentication services for real-time identity verification. Improving reliability, scalability, incident response, and AI/ML trust-signal operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop engineering managers, senior engineers, and emerging technical leaders across Authentication
- Translate product and engineering strategy into a technical roadmap, execution plan, and operating model
- Improve reliability, scalability, and operational health of cloud-native, API-based distributed systems
- Drive predictable, high-quality delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Raise standards for architecture, observability, testing, incident response, postmortems, and engineering practices
- Partner with Product, Research, Security, Platform, and adjacent engineering teams
- Own metrics for delivery health, system performance, team effectiveness, and on-call sustainability
- Act as a senior technical escalation point during customer issues and production incidents
- Guide production use of AI/ML-backed trust signals, model outputs, and automation
- Foster accountability, inclusion, learning, and calm execution under pressure
Requirements:
- 8–12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building and operating distributed backend systems and APIs in production
- 3–5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including leading through managers and/or senior technical leads
- Strong technical depth in cloud-native architecture, microservices, observability, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices across AWS and/or GCP
- Proven experience improving reliability, execution, and engineering standards for customer-facing, high-availability systems
- Hands-on backend experience with Go and/or Python
- Strong understanding of data stores and service design for low-latency systems
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Security, Support, Customer Success, and engineering teams
- Authentication, identity, fraud prevention, risk engines, or security-sensitive product domain experience is nice-to-have
- Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, RBAC/ABAC, or related access patterns is nice-to-have
- Experience productionizing model outputs, risk signals, or AI/ML capabilities is nice-to-have
- Experience leading multi-cloud services with on-call responsibility and incident load is nice-to-have
