Job Description
Platform engineer building Mondoo’s scalable cloud infrastructure and automated security controls. Translating security requirements into policy-as-code implementations across cloud and on-premises environments.
Responsibilities:
- Build, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
- Automate system configurations using Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Collaborate with teams to integrate infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines
- Gain practical experience with policy as code frameworks such as Open Policy Agent and HashiCorp Sentinel
- Translate high-level security requirements into practical policy as code implementations across cloud and on-premises environments
- Support implementation and scaling of automated security controls in Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, and operating systems
- Monitor infrastructure management and automation trends to maintain a robust, scalable system foundation
- Contribute to the Mondoo Platform, including its policy engine, resources, scale, and multi-region functionality
- Help teams assess, scope, prioritize, triage, and remediate security findings
Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Solid understanding of at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or a similar language
- Knowledge of networking basics, including TCP/IP and DNS
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Willingness to learn and grow into security policies and automation
- Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork skills
- Familiarity with Open Policy Agent or HashiCorp Sentinel preferred
- Knowledge of CIS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 compliance standards preferred
- Exposure to cloud-native security tools and services preferred
- Relevant AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications preferred
- GitHub/GitLab repositories or portfolio demonstrating security policy implementation, policy as code, and cloud security tools
- Must be based in and have the right to work in Bulgaria or Germany
