Job Description
Senior Python Engineer developing backend services and integrations for Fliff's sports gaming platform. Responsible for KYC, geolocation, payment integrations, and system observability.
Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of backend features and improvements, from design through implementation, deployment, and production support
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using Python and Django
- Build and maintain integrations with external systems, including KYC, geolocation, and payment partners, and other third-party services
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to scope and deliver new integrations
- Implement observability across integration flows, including monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability, prevent regressions, and improve overall test coverage and testing practices
- Support production issues and participate in on-call rotations
Requirements:
- At least 5+ years of development experience, with Python as the primary language and strong experience in API and system integrations
- Proven experience integrating third-party APIs, with deep understanding of webhooks, callbacks, idempotency, and failure handling. **Payments and KYC integrations are strong plus**
- Experience with observability tools to monitor and troubleshoot production integrations
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures and concurrency
- Experience in architecture design of highly loaded and scalable solutions
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and production monitoring
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations
