Job Description
Senior SAP Consultant responsible for configuring and implementing SAP modules at Deutsche Telekom in Slovakia. Collaborating with clients and providing functional expertise and technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the successful configuration and implementation of the client’s SAP modules, providing functional expertise, hands‑on delivery, customization, guidance, presentations, and training on SAP products
- Collaborate closely with project stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into SAP ERP configuration, reports and specifications
- Act as the primary client contact for troubleshooting and strategic decisions related to the relevant modules: investigate, analyze and resolve software issues; map business requirements, processes and objectives; and develop product modifications where required
- Define systems strategy, gather system requirements, design and prototype solutions, perform testing, deliver training, document and quantify support procedures, and implement pragmatic business solutions under multiple deadlines
- May serve as technical lead and functional project manager on company‑wide SAP projects and participate in implementation projects
- May write ABAP reports (queries and dialog programs) and/or liaise directly with ABAP developers
- Maintain a clear understanding of customer master data management — ensure master data consistency and assess its impact on business processes and governance
- Provide continuous feedback on project status and present constructive options to ensure projects remain aligned with original expectations
- Consistently demonstrate and deliver a strong, professional customer service commitment
- Use technical and industry knowledge to identify complex client issues and build long‑term relationships with key executives through delivery and professional networking
- Train and mentor junior colleagues to support continuous improvement
- Analyze customer requests for SAP application customization and propose appropriate solutions and implementation plans
- Consult with ABAP developers or solution designers and propose implementation designs for new SAP components
- Document system changes and designs of new components to ensure readability and maintainability for future reference
- Test newly added functionality to prevent and remove errors in production systems
- Present proposed solutions to customers
- May be assigned as senior support for new business initiatives or transitions across different SAP modules
Requirements:
- Expert knowledge of S/4HANA
- Experience with ABAP debugging and the ability to read ABAP code to diagnose system behavior
- Solid understanding of business environments, IT processes, organizational impacts of change, and IT architecture
- Proficiency in one or more SAP modules, including customizing and SAP reporting
- Ability to consult on technical solutions with system users and stakeholders
- Team player with flexibility, a strong desire to learn, and openness to new methods and processes
- Experience in consulting: gathering functional/technical requirements from clients, analyzing and designing solutions, testing, and participating in roll‑outs
- Strong interpersonal skills, rapid learning ability, excellent consulting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
- Strong customer orientation, initiative and enthusiasm
- Results oriented and able to deliver tasks on time under pressure
- Willingness to travel
- English and German language skills at minimum B2 level (required for all modules except HCM)
- Possible specialization: deep experience and knowledge of SAP processes
- Strong hands‑on configuration skills in SAP ERP and cross‑functional experience to understand configuration setups and data processing
- Strong experience with SAP report writer and report painter
- Strong knowledge and experience with SAP Implementation (ASAP) methodology
