Job Description
Senior Software Engineer scaling Chainalysis’s blockchain data platform through PostgreSQL, Java Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS. Building high-throughput aggregation, search, and intelligent operational automation.
Responsibilities:
- Own and improve the data ingest Java service for enriched transfer generation and aggregations
- Design and tune PostgreSQL transaction batching, indexing, and replication strategies
- Evaluate next-generation architecture technologies through proofs of concept and latency benchmarks
- Write ADRs and contribute to delivering the next generation to production
- Build and maintain scalable AWS API services handling thousands of requests per second
- Automate network onboarding end-to-end
- Debug production issues across microservices
- Define SLOs and participate in the on-call rotation
- Integrate LLM-based tools into daily engineering work
- Build agentic automation for operational tasks, including automated incident triage, self-healing pipelines, and intelligent alerting
- Collaborate with product and design partners to ship and iterate
Requirements:
- 8+ years with PostgreSQL in production, including schema design, query optimization, partitioning, replication, and performance tuning under write-heavy, high-throughput workloads
- 8+ years building Java Spring Boot services, including REST APIs, JDBC, connection pooling, and JVM performance profiling
- Experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming systems, including consumer groups, offset management, and partition lag debugging
- Track record operating distributed systems on AWS, including microservices, multi-silo deployments, and Terraform
- Strong cross-system debugging skills using Datadog metrics, Humio logs, and code paths
- Comfort with AI-assisted development and agentic engineering practices
- Experience required with PostgreSQL, Java Spring, and Kafka
- Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, GitHub including GitHub Actions, Datadog, Humio, and PagerDuty
- Legally authorized to work for any employer in the European Union without restrictions
