Job Description
Senior AI Engineer building production AI features for Usersnap’s SaaS feedback platform. Owning fullstack architecture, LLM integrations, evaluation, and reliable launches.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and ship AI-powered features across the product from prototyping through production quality
- Work hands-on with LLMs, embeddings, and AI tooling to solve product problems
- Own architecture, model selection, integration approach, and quality, cost, and latency tradeoffs
- Build across frontend, backend, and infrastructure as needed
- Test, monitor, and maintain every shipped feature
- Establish practices for AI feature development
- Identify technical risks around AI reliability, cost, and edge-case behavior
- Partner with the Senior Engineering Manager on technical planning and sequencing
- Collaborate with Product on requirements and provide technical guidance
- Work with the engineering team on shared architecture and standards
- Ship at least one AI-powered feature to production within the first 3–6 months
- Establish reusable technical patterns and build effective working relationships with Engineering and Product
Requirements:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Shipped AI features to production and owned their lifecycle from problem framing through post-launch iteration
- Strong fullstack fundamentals across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
- Practical experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, or similar techniques in live systems
- Ability to determine when AI is appropriate for a problem
- Experience defining success metrics, designing experiments, and running offline and online evaluations
- Solid SQL and basic schema design
- Ability to build simple data pipelines and perform data analysis and exploration
- Docker fluency
- CI/CD awareness
- Logging and monitoring basics
- Experience versioning prompts, models, and datasets
- Experience integrating multiple LLM providers
- Experience with vector databases
- Experience using LangChain or similar tools
- Comfort with fine-tuning when appropriate
- Track record of proactively framing problems and proposing solutions
- Comfortable owning outcomes in a lean team
- Compliance or security experience or strong interest is a plus
