Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building Campaign Monitor’s distributed martech systems at Marigold. Developing full-stack applications, AWS infrastructure, APIs, and event-driven services.
Responsibilities:
- Work as an integral member of an autonomous, multi-disciplinary product team
- Collaborate with UX designers, Product Managers, and software engineers
- Deliver quality customer experiences and scale systems for increasing growth
- Support and maintain software created by the team, including participation in an on-call rotation
- Develop event-driven microservices and APIs in a distributed architecture
- Build dynamic web applications using ReactJS, Node.js, and Backbone.js
- Develop infrastructure on AWS, including EC2, ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, ElastiCache, and Elasticsearch
- Work on event streaming and big data solutions using Kafka and Spark
- Extend and grow the existing feature set
- Shape architecture decisions and improve code quality through review and mentorship
- Take ownership of problems end to end, including scoping, tradeoffs, and long-term maintainability
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience as a software developer
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 3+ years of additional relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree
- Fluency in at least two programming languages, preferably including C#, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Comfortable using AI-augmented development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor
- Familiarity with storage engines including SQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and RDS offerings
- Familiarity with instrumentation techniques and data-driven decision making
- Effective communication via interactive mediums and documentation
- Solid collaboration skills and ability to work in a team
- Experience in event streaming architecture and stream processing (desirable)
- Solid Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform (desirable)
