Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building Go-based fintech and payment infrastructure at Moov. Designing APIs, microservices, and AI-assisted production systems for developers.
Responsibilities:
- Build new and expand existing fintech and payment systems
- Work on next-generation financial products
- Advise and mentor fellow developers
- Design and build production services using Go, microservices, databases, and cloud solutions
- Create APIs and tooling for products and services
- Reproduce customer issues and contribute improvements to troubleshooting tools
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, business development, and company leadership
- Own the full release lifecycle from feature development through public and hosted release
- Contribute to system documentation
- Independently execute complex requirements
- Contribute to Moov’s agentic toolset
- Collaborate with and guide AI agents to produce maintainable, traceable, production-ready code
- Ensure AI-generated code follows engineering guidelines for telemetry, error handling, test-first design, API contracts, type safety, and observability
- Partner with a global community of 2,000+ developers
Requirements:
- Self-guided building and planning of production systems
- Past experience developing complex software in Go
- Understanding and experience in microservice architectures
- Experience using AI tools for spec-driven development
- Ability to provide context, rules, and technical specifications for AI-generated production code
- Experience working in the fintech/payments industry
- Ability to design simple, creative solutions to complex problems
- Ability to rapidly diagnose issues and implement immediate solutions in a high-availability environment
- High adaptability to shifting business needs
- Knowledge of one or more ISO specifications related to fintech/payments
- Experience with database manipulation and optimization
- Experience with financial risk/compliance requirements and regulatory-aligned feature development
- Knowledge of OSS tools and active OSS community participation
- Understanding of AI’s benefits and limitations in technical and/or financial contexts
- Proficiency with Go, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, AlloyDB, Spanner, HTTP/2, JSON, Kafka, events, webhooks, and microservices
