Job Description
Engineering Manager leading Toast’s ToastNow mobile app for restaurant operators. Driving iOS/Android delivery, team development, software quality, and AI-first engineering practices.
Responsibilities:
- Drive delivery of business outcomes, including planning, scheduling, and execution
- Drive cross-team and cross-organization efforts with predictable results and excellent collaboration
- Collaborate with Product Management and UX to maintain an actionable, valuable team backlog
- Ensure end-to-end software quality and delivery
- Own monitoring and production issues
- Hire and develop new team members
- Coach individuals in professional and technical development
- Champion AI tools and practices to accelerate development, improve team velocity, and pioneer new ways of building
Requirements:
- Experience leading and mentoring successful teams to drive predictable business results
- Experience delivering high quality iOS and/or Android experiences across the native stack
- Experience managing a mix of core contributions and away team engagements
- Experience delivering products using GraphQL and microservices
- Willingness to get hands-on and go deep to help the team reach its goals
- Ability to encourage high agency and creative problem-solving
- Desire to build diverse, high-performing teams that prioritize customer success
