Job Description
Senior engineer industrializing mechanical suppliers for Anduril’s defense technology systems. Driving supplier qualification, tooling, capacity expansion, quality, and production ramp-up.
Responsibilities:
- Own and manage mechanical fabrication commodities/subcategories to execute supplier production strategies from NPI to full production
- Serve as a force multiplier for the Supply Chain team and overall commodity strategy
- Vet suppliers’ production capabilities, factory layout, facilities, and workforce for Approved Supplier List inclusion
- Support Supplier Quality Engineers in ensuring suppliers understand and adhere to part-quality criteria
- Bring up new production tooling and lines and develop supplier sites to meet performance, quality, and demand requirements
- Own supplier capacity expansion readiness and production ramp-up
- Establish and drive process performance and statistical process control reviews at supplier sites
- Identify and drive product and process improvements, factory-layout optimization, cost reduction, supply-risk reduction, defect elimination, and cycle-time improvement
- Support root-cause task forces and close corrective/preventive actions with suppliers
- Coordinate closely with internal engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams and directly with suppliers
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field
- 6+ years of experience in supplier quality and industrialization within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with mechanical fabrication manufacturing, IPC standards, CAD, and GD&T
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
- Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or another related industry
- Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and certifications
- Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment
- Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
