Job Description

Senior Microsoft Sentinel Engineer designing and managing Microsoft Sentinel environments for Arctiq’s managed cybersecurity services. Building integrations, detection logic, and SOAR automation for clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, maintain, and communicate systems requirements, solution approaches and designs, standards, and standardized methodologies across the enterprise
  • Architect and design Sentinel ingestion and integration architectures, including data connectors, workspace design, and cross-tenant/Lighthouse considerations
  • Create requirements, identify gaps, and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Identify efficiency and automation opportunities, including SOAR playbooks via Logic Apps
  • Track work and provide appropriate reporting
  • Act as an escalation point for customers and internal teams
  • Participate in identifying and analyzing use case implementations
  • Assist with and lead cybersecurity initiatives as required
  • Process tickets and respond to and resolve platform issues for customers
  • Work closely with clients, managed services, end-users, and management to implement, manage, and improve Microsoft Sentinel environments
  • Ensure project execution and alignment with business processes, system architecture, and data management direction
  • Enhance business processes and workflows related to Microsoft Sentinel
  • Maintain assigned business documentation
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in related IT security fields
  • Strong background working in the IT and IT Security arena
  • Experience deploying and managing Microsoft Sentinel environments, including workspace architecture, data connectors, and content management
  • Foundational understanding of networking principles, security best practices, and systems administration
  • 5 or more years' experience in security
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with KQL (Kusto Query Language) required
  • Python or other scripting languages is a plus
  • Experience writing Sentinel analytics rules, hunting queries, or similar detection logic
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Strong critical thinking and technical diagnostic abilities
  • Ability to work in project teams and complete individual tasks in a timely manner
  • Personal accountability
  • Experience with event/meeting coordinating
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in Information Security domains, including understanding of information security programs, organizations, requirements, deliverables, processes, tools, and mindset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft security stack, including Defender XDR, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 Defender, is a plus
  • Ability to maintain courteous and professional conduct
  • Travel may be required
