Job Description
Site Manager overseeing high voltage substation construction projects at GE Vernova. Ensuring safety, quality, and timely execution of all site activities with stakeholder collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- You will lead our on-site activities for our 110/400 kV substation projects.
- You are our on-site representative, the point of contact for our client, and you coordinate your site team as well as our subcontractors for construction and installation services.
- Planning and coordination of all work on site while ensuring compliance with applicable occupational health, environmental and safety regulations, and contributing to the preparation of work and safety instructions.
- Management of all site activities, including directing subcontractors to ensure smooth site operations.
- Point of contact for our client and leader of site meetings.
- Monitoring quality, costs and schedules during construction and reporting accordingly to project management.
- Identifying and managing risks and opportunities related to installation activities and reporting these to project management.
Requirements:
- Completed vocational training in electrical engineering with several years of professional experience; further qualification as a technician or master craftsman is preferable.
- Experience as a site manager in substation projects or comparable projects, e.g., oil & gas, power plants, or in the installation of high-voltage components is desirable.
- Strong health and safety (EHS) awareness according to international standards; ability to identify and stop unsafe work is required.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to provide clear reporting.
- Lean mindset: openness to further training, new tools and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel for work within Germany and the Netherlands.
- Fluent German, both written and spoken; English skills are an advantage.
- Driving license class B.
