Job Description
Site Manager overseeing 110/400 kV substation projects for GE Vernova. Ensuring safety, quality, and timely execution of construction and commissioning activities.
Responsibilities:
- You will lead our on-site activities for our 110/400 kV substation projects.
- You will act as our on-site representative, serve as the local point of contact for our customer, and coordinate your site team as well as our subcontractors for construction and installation services.
- As the person responsible for site activities and their execution, you will play a key role in ensuring that work in the substation is carried out safely, to high quality standards, on time, and cost-effectively.
- Mobilization: Coordinate the mobilization of site personnel together with internal departments and subcontractors, and plan site setup and facilities.
- Health & Safety: Plan and coordinate all site activities in compliance with applicable occupational health, environmental and safety regulations, and contribute to the preparation of work and safety instructions.
- Site management: Lead all site activities, including supervision of subcontractors, to ensure smooth site operations.
- Communication: Serve as the point of contact for our customer and lead construction meetings.
- Control & Reporting: Monitor quality, costs and schedules during construction and report accordingly to project management.
- Opportunities & Risks: Identify and manage risks and opportunities related to installation activities and report these to project management.
Requirements:
- Completed qualification in electrical engineering with several years of professional experience; further training as a technician or master craftsman is an advantage.
- Experience as a site manager or construction manager on substation projects or comparable projects (e.g., oil & gas, power plants), or experience in installation of high-voltage components is desirable.
- Strong awareness of health, safety and environment (EHS) according to international standards; the ability to identify and stop unsafe work is required.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to produce clear reports.
- Lean mindset: openness to further training, new tools and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel within Germany and the Netherlands.
- Very good written and spoken German; English skills are advantageous.
- Driving license class B.
