Job Description
Site Reliability Engineer automating Linux, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS infrastructure. Supporting databases, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and production reliability for White Hat Gaming’s iGaming platform.
Responsibilities:
- Support the team and augment existing development infrastructure by implementing automation to streamline the pipeline
- Help administer the existing collection of Linux servers, growing over time into a larger collection of EC2 instances
- Help look after production Oracle and MySQL databases
- Work with developers to improve and automate testing, deployment, and monitoring processes
- Write and maintain scripts as required, primarily in PHP
- Diagnose and help fix production issues
- Provide 3rd-line technical support for customer and client tickets
- Report to Ops Engineering Management
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
- Background in Linux administration
- Scripting/programming knowledge of at least Unix shell scripting
- Good networking understanding (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, etc.)
- Good understanding of Apache, Nginx, relational and key-value databases, DNS servers, and similar technologies
- Understanding of cloud-based infrastructures such as AWS
- Experience with Kubernetes for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure
- Experience deploying and supporting multiple staging/dev environments
- Experience maintaining continuous integration and delivery pipelines with tools such as ArgoCD / CircleCI
- Experience implementing, operating, and supporting open-source tools for network and security monitoring and management on Linux/Unix platforms
- Experience with Postgres
- Experience with security in AWS
- Quick to learn and fast to adapt to changing environments
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills in English
