Job Description
Site Reliability Engineer enhancing Raidboxes’ fast, secure managed WordPress hosting platform. Building resilient Python services, Kubernetes infrastructure, automation, and observability.
Responsibilities:
- Own the architecture and implementation of software solutions, including programming, code reviews, and testing
- Analyze and resolve complex production issues, such as inconsistencies in distributed systems, connection timeouts, and resource bottlenecks
- Develop and expand monitoring systems to reduce manual work (toil) and lower MTTR
- Work closely in an international team with front-end and back-end developers, Product Owners, and UX/UI designers
- Quickly adapt to new requirements and learn new technologies and methodologies
- Provide on-call support when required, with additional compensation
- Develop the best technical solution on the market for customers
- Achieve defined goals efficiently
- Set priorities and find pragmatic solutions in a dynamic environment
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in backend development and/or SRE/DevOps roles
- In-depth knowledge of Linux, including process management and systemd internals
- Proficiency with microservices, Redis Events, FastAPI, Celery, and asynchronous workflows
- Solid understanding of software development according to SOLID, DRY, and Clean Code principles
- Strong Python skills, including OOP, asynchronous patterns, proper error handling, and performance optimization
- Experience with Ansible, including idempotent playbook design, AWX, and cloud infrastructure
- Experience with Git-based CI/CD practices
- At least basic experience administering Kubernetes clusters
- Fluent English and good German skills
- Willingness to take ownership of systems and topics and actively support the team
- Ability to identify problems independently before they become incidents
- Ability to identify and document optimizations independently and implement them through automation
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate with multiple engineering teams and build consensus around technical approaches
