Job Description
Software & AI Architect building Brightfin’s AI-native platform for IT financial management, technology expense management, and FinOps. Owning architecture, AI capabilities, infrastructure, and governance.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture of brightfin's product suite and standalone SaaS products
- Set engineering standards for quality, scalability, and reliability
- Define brightfin's AI strategy and roadmap and prioritize initiatives by measurable customer or business outcomes
- Design and build AI-native capabilities, including embedded agentic features
- Own model selection, orchestration, prompt and agent architecture, and AI evaluation pipelines
- Build and operate the AI-driven development lifecycle and engineering tooling
- Own AI infrastructure, model and vendor evaluation, data handling, access management, guardrails, and integration standards
- Partner with People & Culture and the AI Champions network on security-first AI systems
- Prototype, ship, and prove architecture and AI initiatives as an individual owner in year one
- Build the case for and recruit a team once initiatives are ready to scale
- Partner with the Chief Product & AI Officer and executive team on architecture and AI investment decisions
- Report initiatives using clear metrics and honest status
Requirements:
- 8+ years in software engineering or architecture, with direct hands-on experience designing and shipping production systems at scale
- 3+ years leading or contributing to teams within AI-native organizations
- Deep experience with LLMs, RAG, agentic-native system design, and multi-agent architectures
- Hands-on software architecture experience owning and evolving a production platform
- Hands-on AI architecture experience designing and operating LLM-based tooling, agentic workflows, and AI-native product capability in production
- Direct experience operating in the ServiceNow ecosystem; ideally architecting ServiceNow applications directly
- Experience standing up an initiative, system, or function without an existing team or playbook
- Comfortable operating as an individual contributor and later hiring and leading a team
- Deep engineering fluency, including writing and reviewing code and understanding architecture trade-offs
- Working knowledge of security, data governance, and enterprise, federal, and international platform guardrails
- Clear executive-level technical communication
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Candidates are subject to a background check
