Job Description
Full-stack Software Engineer building customer-facing SaaS features for FOSSA’s open-source compliance and security platform. Owning database, API, interface, reliability, and operations end to end.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and ship full-stack features used daily by customers, from database schema through interface.
- Own work end to end, including scoping, implementation, testing, rollout, and post-launch follow-through.
- Work with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and Postgres.
- Partner with product, design, and support to turn customer problems into working software.
- Improve reliability and performance for systems operating at meaningful scale for enterprise customers.
- Review code and raise the team's quality bar.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and improve operability of owned systems.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience building and shipping scalable SaaS products, with real ownership of what you built.
- Experience as a full-stack software engineer owning and building features end-to-end.
- Solid experience with relational databases and writing performant SQL queries.
- Experience working in a large existing codebase, including proactivity in sharing ideas and informed opinions with others.
- Experience with agentic tooling and AI-assisted workflows, or a strong interest in getting good at using them.
- Ability to break down complex problems, drive towards a solution, and communicate it with the team and other stakeholders (both verbally and written).
- Thrive in an environment that prefers prototypes over proposals.
- Ability to mentor and be mentored by others.
- Experience with observability tooling.
- Growth mindset and willingness to learn new things.
- Attention to detail and quality to anticipate edge cases ahead of time.
