Job Description
Remote Software Engineer modernizing .NET/C# legacy systems for an established platform. Delivering customer-facing features while improving reliability, scalability, and production system health.
Responsibilities:
- Build and evolve the software platform
- Deliver meaningful customer-facing features
- Ship high-quality production code
- Improve system reliability, performance, scalability, and overall system health
- Maintain and extend established .NET/C# legacy systems
- Balance development speed, code quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability
- Debug production systems and resolve technical issues
- Contribute to system design and architecture with guidance
- Identify opportunities to improve performance and system health
- Own features or services throughout the development lifecycle, from implementation through production
- Contribute to code reviews and established engineering standards
- Contribute to modernizing legacy systems
- Work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone
Requirements:
- 3–6 years of software engineering experience
- Experience building and shipping production systems
- Hands-on experience maintaining and extending established .NET/C# legacy systems
- Experience working with SQL Server as a primary database
- Experience developing and supporting customer-facing software features
- Experience debugging production systems and resolving technical issues
- Strong .NET and C# development capabilities
- Strong SQL Server experience in production software environments
- Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities with legacy systems and production issues
- Ability to build production-quality software across frontend and backend systems
- Ability to balance speed, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
- Ability to contribute to system design and architecture with guidance
- Ability to take ownership of features or services from implementation through production
- Experience using AI development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms
- Ability to communicate progress clearly and contribute to code reviews and engineering standards
- Availability to work 9:00 AM–5:00 PM PST / U.S. business hours
- English resume required in PDF format
- Nice to have: JavaScript or TypeScript, Vue/Nuxt, React/Next, or Node.js
- Nice to have: Shopify, BigCommerce, or Magento and exposure to order logic and tracking events
- Nice to have: logistics or shipping concepts, including dimensional sizing, customs, and duties
- Nice to have: fulfillment systems or processes
- Nice to have: PostgreSQL or MySQL
