Job Description
Software Engineering Manager overseeing engineering teams within FactSet's Search and Look Up department. Leading projects, mentoring developers, and ensuring product effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of software engineers or projects within the Search and Look Up department
- Review product requirement documents
- Problem solving and working on high-level (operational or architectural) issues to ensure effectiveness of products under direct management
- Implements and tracks development timelines, and negotiates feature sets with development leads and product teams
- Sets goals and mentors development of ongoing projects
- Provides guidance and direction to team on software design and implementation
- Reviews code changes and submissions
- Presents technical & operational issues to senior management and sets deadlines and priorities for team members
- Helps to coordinate recruiting, training and new hire onboarding for immediate team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related technical field
- 2 years of software engineering industry experience
- Experience with C#, .NET Framework, Python, SQL (MS SQL Server), Perl, JavaScript, Bash/Shell scripting, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch 2, 6, and 9
- Experience with AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, Parameter Store, Aurora & RDS, Step Functions, EventBridge, Kinesis, Firehose)
- Experience with ETL Pipelines
- Experience with Linux, Windows, SSH (PuTTY, WSL)
- Experience with Kibana, Grafana
- Must have full software development life cycle experience.
