Job Description

Solicitor managing Scottish Credit Hire and Motor Litigation cases for CSG, a defender claims services provider to the UK insurance industry. Handling complex disputes, court hearings and client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key client-facing point of contact for Scottish claims
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, including industry events, client training sessions, clinics and shadowing days
  • Manage a varied caseload of litigated matters, including credit hire, damage, fraud and injury claims
  • Work towards agreed performance targets and personal financial targets
  • Collaborate with colleagues on liability, indemnity and associated loss cases, including personal injury, credit repair and diminution
  • Maintain technical skills through regular training, learning opportunities and up-to-date legal reading
  • Handle confidential information in line with data security standards
  • Attend court hearings when required and develop advocacy skills
  • Contribute to the team’s strategic goals and wider business success

Requirements:

  • A qualified (NQ+) Solicitor
  • Demonstrable experience managing a varied caseload in the Scottish courts
  • Credit Hire / Motor Litigation experience preferred; experience in Personal Injury, Insurance Fraud or Dispute Resolution also considered
  • Open to individuals close to completing their Traineeships
  • Highly organised with confident negotiation and communication skills
  • Outstanding eye for detail
  • Excellent relationship and client handling skills
  • Ability to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day-to-day issues
  • Reasonable self-sufficiency and awareness of the boundaries of own competence/authority
  • Proactive and tenacious approach to identifying issues and solving problems
  • Ability to adopt a commercial perspective
