Job Description
Solicitor managing Scottish Credit Hire and Motor Litigation cases for CSG, a defender claims services provider to the UK insurance industry. Handling complex disputes, court hearings and client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a key client-facing point of contact for Scottish claims
- Participate in marketing and business development activities, including industry events, client training sessions, clinics and shadowing days
- Manage a varied caseload of litigated matters, including credit hire, damage, fraud and injury claims
- Work towards agreed performance targets and personal financial targets
- Collaborate with colleagues on liability, indemnity and associated loss cases, including personal injury, credit repair and diminution
- Maintain technical skills through regular training, learning opportunities and up-to-date legal reading
- Handle confidential information in line with data security standards
- Attend court hearings when required and develop advocacy skills
- Contribute to the team’s strategic goals and wider business success
Requirements:
- A qualified (NQ+) Solicitor
- Demonstrable experience managing a varied caseload in the Scottish courts
- Credit Hire / Motor Litigation experience preferred; experience in Personal Injury, Insurance Fraud or Dispute Resolution also considered
- Open to individuals close to completing their Traineeships
- Highly organised with confident negotiation and communication skills
- Outstanding eye for detail
- Excellent relationship and client handling skills
- Ability to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day-to-day issues
- Reasonable self-sufficiency and awareness of the boundaries of own competence/authority
- Proactive and tenacious approach to identifying issues and solving problems
- Ability to adopt a commercial perspective
