Job Description

Solutions Engineer leading pre-sales architecture for ChargePoint, an EV charging network and solutions provider. Designing fleet charging, energy management, storage, and software integrations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all technical aspects of pre-sales engagements for complex, high-value customers
  • Partner with sales, product, and engineering teams to design tailored EVSE architectures, energy management strategies, and battery storage solutions
  • Drive and manage complex technology evaluations as the primary technical authority during pre-sales engagements
  • Conduct engineering site and architecture assessments virtually or in person
  • Design solutions for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty fleets, including charging capabilities, dwell times, routing, scheduling, and energy management
  • Architect software API implementations and third-party integrations
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations and product training
  • Lead technical responses for RFPs and tenders and help craft Statements of Work and proposals
  • Translate customer feedback and market trends into product roadmap insights
  • Resolve technical roadblocks during the transition from pre-sales to deployment
  • Maintain knowledge of electrical installation codes, EVSE standards, battery energy storage, and high-power solutions
  • Advise customers on technical best practices and system architecture

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of combined experience in technical sales, technical consulting, or solutions engineering
  • Proven track record of handling complex enterprise accounts
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical engineering, telecommunications, IT infrastructure, or software development
  • Exceptional presentation, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong customer-facing skills and ability to build strategic relationships
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
  • High degree of self-motivation and critical thinking
  • Ability to autonomously manage time and prioritize strategic initiatives
  • Ability to travel up to 50% across Europe, predominantly within the UK and Ireland
  • Preferred: direct experience with fleet vehicle operations, routing, and scheduling logistics
  • Preferred: working knowledge of High Power charging solutions and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Preferred: experience with large-scale facility electrical planning and energy management systems
  • Preferred: background in technical writing for complex proposals and technical documentation
