Job Description
Solutions Engineer supporting CTERA’s enterprise data and cloud storage platform across the Western US. Providing technical sales support, solution design, presentations, proofs of concept, demos, and training.
Responsibilities:
- Provide product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests
- Provide technical sales support throughout the sales cycle, including qualifying opportunities, selling solutions on technical merits, replying to RFIs and RFPs, establishing solution designs, and sizing solutions
- Establish and maintain rapport and relationships with customers and partners
- Resolve complex issues creatively and effectively using professional concepts and company objectives
- Support sales teams by delivering technical presentations about products and services to customers and prospective clients
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide technical-sales support
- Conduct proofs of concept (POCs) with clearly written and communicated scopes of work (SOWs) and success criteria
- Transfer knowledge to customers and partners through demos and hands-on training sessions
- Collect and document product feedback and requests for enhancements (RFEs) for CTERA’s Product Management team
- Submit orders by conferring with technical support staff
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Sales Engineer in the storage and/or cloud industries
- Strong presentation and technical analysis skills
- Up to 50% travel with some overnight stays
- Storage experience with network-attached storage (NAS), file systems, and object storage
- Knowledge of CIFS/SMB and NFS protocols
- Experience deploying, securing, and managing file servers, backup, and archiving software
- 2+ years’ experience in VMware, with Datacenter Virtualization Certification, or AWS/Azure Certified Solution Architect
- Proven knowledge of the TCP/IP stack and HTTP, TLS, DNS, LDAP, and SAML v2 protocols
- Experience using network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server Platforms, including ADDS and DNS roles
- Experience with Linux, including RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu
- Practical experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms
- Documentation experience editing guides, sales presentations, network configuration diagrams, and asset management
- Preferred location: Colorado, Arizona, or Utah
