Job Description
Spanish Teacher delivering personalized online instruction for Stride’s K–12 education programs. Monitoring student progress, engaging families, and preparing learners for standardized tests.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specific Spanish course content in an online environment
- Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process
- Focus on students’ individual needs and personalize learning
- Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
- Work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals
- Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
- Differentiate instruction based on student mastery
- Augment course content using prescribed synchronous and asynchronous tools
- Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity
- Make student placement and promotion decisions
- Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families
- Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
- Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school functions
Requirements:
- Appropriate state Department of Education Spanish Teaching Certification
- North Carolina or South Carolina residency required
- Candidates residing in surrounding states (Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia) may be considered
- Bachelor’s degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday, typically 9–5 or 8–4
- Experience working with the proposed age group preferred
- Experience supporting adults and children in using technology preferred
- Experience teaching online/virtual or in a brick-and-mortar environment preferred
- Experience with online learning platforms preferred
- Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations
- Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions
- Ability to receive regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
