Job Description

Streaming data analyst troubleshooting catalogs, feeds, and data processes for Simply.TV’s streaming services in Mexico. Using Python, AI tools, and root-cause analysis to resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of streaming data issues from initial investigation through resolution.
  • Investigate incorrect catalogs, feeds, data anomalies, failed processes, and other streaming-related issues.
  • Identify root causes by analysing data, system behaviour, logs, feeds, and technical workflows.
  • Use Python to investigate, validate, manipulate, or troubleshoot data and technical processes.
  • Resolve issues independently where possible or escalate them to Development or other technical teams with a clear diagnosis and supporting information.
  • Work with structured data, APIs, logs, feeds, internal systems, and other technical sources.
  • Use AI tools and effective prompting to support analysis, investigation, troubleshooting, and productivity.
  • Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding streaming-data issues, investigations, and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Streaming teams to improve workflows and prevent recurring issues.
  • Manage multiple investigations and priorities while meeting deadlines and SLA requirements.
  • Document findings, solutions, and recurring problems to improve team knowledge and processes.
  • Continuously develop understanding of Simply.TV’s streaming products, data architecture, and technical workflows.
  • Reports to the Head of Streaming.
  • Full-time contractor; 40 hours per week.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, IT, or a closely related technical field.
  • Solid practical Python skills and confidence using Python for data analysis, investigation, automation, or troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate an issue and identify its root cause.
  • Good understanding of data structures, technical systems, and how data moves between different systems or processes.
  • Experience using AI tools effectively, including strong prompting skills for research, analysis, troubleshooting, or productivity.
  • Ability to work independently on technical problems and take ownership from investigation through resolution.
  • Ability to understand technical information and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Confidence communicating directly with clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple investigations or priorities simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proactive, curious, and comfortable exploring unfamiliar technical problems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.
  • Previous experience in data analytics, data operations, technical support, technical operations, QA, or a similar analytical role is a nice-to-have.
  • Experience working with APIs, JSON/XML, databases, SQL, logs, scripting, or data pipelines is a nice-to-have.
  • Experience with streaming technologies, OTT platforms, broadcasting, media technology, metadata, or digital content is a nice-to-have.
  • Previous experience working with client-facing technical issues is a nice-to-have.
  • Experience using Python for automation or building small internal tools is a nice-to-have.
  • Familiarity with debugging technical workflows and identifying issues across multiple systems is a nice-to-have.
  • Previous experience in an international or cross-functional environment is a nice-to-have.
  • Previous experience in television or streaming is helpful but not required.

Benefits:

  • Compensation: $2,000–$3,000 USD per month, depending on experience and technical skill level, based on a full-time contractor setup.
