Job Description

Team Lead driving product engineering for Vivecti's innovative health technology solutions. Responsible for scaling product architecture and managing a lean engineering team in a remote setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical overall responsibility for the continued development of the product — across architecture, data model, backend, frontend and interfaces
  • Refactoring of the legacy stack: You analyze the existing codebase, define a target architecture and drive a stepwise, risk-aware migration toward cloud-native, modular services and well-defined APIs — pragmatic and without a big-bang approach
  • Advancement of the AI-based development process: You establish and scale the use of AI tools across the entire SDLC (coding assistance, code review, test generation, documentation) and make AI-supported workflows the team standard
  • Product roadmap for multiple global markets: Together with Product Management, you translate market- and region-specific requirements into a consistent, technically feasible roadmap — making clear trade-offs between localization, standardization and time-to-market
  • Hiring, coaching and development of a lean, high-performing engineering team: You recruit the right engineers, actively develop them, set standards and get the most out of a small setup
  • Delivery excellence: Establish scalable development processes (CI/CD, automated testing, observability, incident management) and reliably dependable releases
  • Close collaboration with executive management, Business Development, Product Management, Customer Success and international stakeholders — you translate strategic and commercial goals into viable technical solutions
  • Ensuring platform stability, security, data protection and compliance in a highly regulated environment
  • Applying AI-supported methods within the product as well (e.g., data enrichment, classification, decision support)
  • Active contribution to the group-wide tech strategy of the Vivecti Group: API harmonization, shared data models, cross-entity initiatives and tech due diligence for new acquisitions

Requirements:

  • Several years of experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead or Head of Engineering in a SaaS or platform environment — ideally with responsibility for a mature product that you have modernized
  • Proven experience in refactoring and migrating grown system architectures — from legacy to cloud-native — without interrupting day-to-day operations
  • Experience with products rolled out in multiple countries or global markets (localization, regulatory differences, regional data requirements)
  • Solid understanding of modern software architectures (cloud-native, microservices, event-driven) and experience with at least one hyperscaler (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Genuine hands-on mentality: You still code, review code, and discuss architecture and data models with your team on an equal footing — while also leading it
  • Experience with complex data models and integrations with third-party systems
  • Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools and enthusiasm for making AI productive in everyday engineering
  • Clear leadership skills with experience in lean teams: You drive high performance in small setups, give feedback, set standards and create an environment where engineers enjoy working
  • Hiring and team development as a core competency: You attract the right engineers, develop them deliberately and build a team that grows with the product
  • Confident stakeholder management up to C-level / executive management and close collaboration with Business Development, Product and Customer Success
  • Strong delivery orientation: You think in outcomes and reliability, not in tickets
  • Confident communication in German and English with stakeholders from product, management and customer environments
  • Entrepreneurial, results-oriented working style — and enjoyment of the work

Benefits:

  • Flexible working (remote, Berlin preferred)
  • Excellent development opportunities within the group
