Job Description
Tech Lead building AWS integration services for One New Zealand’s AI-enabled telecommunications network. Leading APIs, event-driven solutions, cloud architecture and engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of AWS-based integration solutions and domain services
- Define integration architectures, patterns, standards and reusable frameworks
- Review solution designs for alignment with enterprise architecture and integration principles
- Provide technical direction for complex integration initiatives and project deliveries
- Ensure scalability, resiliency, performance and operational excellence
- Lead development and support of AWS integration services using Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB and related services
- Drive adoption of event-driven architecture and microservices-based integration patterns
- Establish best practices for API lifecycle management, service orchestration and asynchronous integrations
- Define CI/CD standards, deployment strategies, release processes and operational controls
- Ensure integration services meet security, compliance and audit requirements
- Mentor integration engineers and developers across AWS technologies and integration best practices
- Provide technical coaching across design, development, testing and production support
- Drive knowledge sharing, technical capability uplift and engineering excellence across the integration community
Requirements:
- Experience with monitoring, observability and cloud operations using CloudWatch and related AWS tools
- 8+ years’ experience in Integration, API Management and Enterprise Application Integration
- Strong expertise across AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, SNS and Step Functions
- Proficiency in Python and Go
- At least three years’ experience in Go
- Proven experience providing technical leadership across teams and large-scale integration initiatives
- Experience with Event-Driven Architecture, Microservices, Serverless platforms, CI/CD, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration governance, standards and API lifecycle management
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline
