Job Description
Tech Lead shaping APIs, integrations, and AWS infrastructure for Reap’s stablecoin-enabled financial platform. Guiding architecture and delivery while remaining hands-on with backend engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, and maintain robust integrations between the platform and external third-party systems
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security within the AWS environment
- Design and implement well-structured APIs and services for seamless cross-platform data exchange
- Apply best practices in API versioning, authentication, and error handling
- Build and operate AWS services using CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for integrations
- Investigate incidents, resolve root causes, and proactively harden systems
- Use AI tools for code generation, debugging, test creation, and documentation
- Help establish practical AI adoption across the team
- Set technical direction and standards for the platform
- Lead architecture and design reviews
- Drive alignment on complex, cross-team initiatives
- Mentor and grow engineers while raising standards for code quality, delivery, and engineering practices
- Own the technical direction, architecture, and delivery for a Platform sub-team while remaining hands-on with code
Requirements:
- 8-10+ years in backend or platform engineering, with a strong focus on system integrations, workflow orchestration, and API-driven solutions
- At least 2+ years in a technical leadership role (Tech Lead or Engineering Manager)
- Track record of leading teams, owning architecture decisions, and delivering complex projects end to end
- Preferably Node.js and TypeScript, with strong experience building APIs and working with event-driven/serverless systems
- Strong backend engineers using Go, Java, or Python may be considered if they can ramp up quickly
- Strong AWS experience
- Solid CI/CD practices, including build/test/release pipelines, deployment automation, and operating production services
- Comfortable using AI coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex
- Familiarity with integrating LLM APIs, including MCP and RAG
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as AWS Aurora, PostgreSQL, and MySQL
- Experience with schema design and ORM frameworks such as TypeORM
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to debug complex integration flows across multiple systems
- Fintech, payments, crypto, or financial services integration experience is a plus
