Job Description
Territory Sales Representative selling Victaulic’s mechanical pipe-joining solutions across Minnesota’s construction market. Managing project pursuits, customer education, distributors, and contractor relationships to grow territory sales.
Responsibilities:
- Learn Victaulic products and how they provide solutions for customer projects
- Learn grooved mechanical pipe joining and competing methods such as welding and flanging
- Understand construction cycles, major projects, market trends, and competitor activity
- Integrate into local trade organizations and professional associations
- Develop a business plan with the Regional Sales Manager, including opportunity mapping, sales goals, product promotion, and sales strategies
- Execute project pursuit and project management from project inception through design, bidding, job-site training, commissioning, and after-sale follow-up
- Gather quotation requirements including application, specification, pricing, and timing
- Lead inside sales, engineering, and support staff to meet customer requirements
- Build relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, and building/project owners
- Partner with distributors and manage a balanced distribution network
- Coordinate with Victaulic representatives and regional market specialists
- Learn customer needs and educate customers on Victaulic product value
- Conduct tool demonstrations, installation training, and presentations for contractors and engineers
- Influence decision-makers and maximize territory sales
- Travel to customers and job sites, including potential overnight travel
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
- Previous sales experience selling value-added products or services preferred
- Commercial construction, PVF, or mechanical products sales experience preferred
- Demonstrated sales achievements
- History of developing and nurturing long-standing customer relationships
- Competitive nature, flexibility, and resiliency
- Self-motivated and self-driven while working remotely with minimal supervision
- Confidence, professional image, and engaging personality with customers
- Strong problem-solving, resourcefulness, and creative-thinking skills
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Solid project-management skills
- Willingness to travel, including overnight travel in some territories
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to handle equipment weighing up to 50+ pounds
