Job Description

Trading Specialist guiding Facet members through trade execution, portfolio rebalancing, and tax-aware strategies. Supporting Facet’s holistic financial advice platform through member education and trading expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for members seeking guidance on trade execution, order types, cost basis implications, and portfolio rebalancing
  • Educate members on brokerage features, market mechanics, trading rules, IRA transaction guidelines, tax-loss harvesting, and complex money movement
  • Resolve elevated inquiries involving order status, trade discrepancies, cost basis adjustments, and corporate actions
  • Partner with CFP® Financial Planners to evaluate member portfolios, discuss trade options, and align execution workflows with holistic financial plans
  • Facilitate and monitor trade requests, model adjustments, and rebalancing activities across Schwab, Fidelity, Apex, and other custodian platforms
  • Act as an internal trading authority on managed account mechanics, direct indexing, and multi-sleeve portfolio structures
  • Identify opportunities to streamline member trading interactions, improve self-service education, and enhance trade escalation workflows
  • Participate in investment operations initiatives, trading software enhancements, and new platform feature rollouts
  • Receive training on SMA and UMA trading and allocation, portfolio rebalancing software, sleeved trading, direct indexing, tax-loss harvesting, and large-scale ETF trading

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in client-facing trading support, brokerage operations, or investor services
  • Solid understanding of equity and ETF trading, option strategies, order routing, cost basis methods, tax-loss harvesting, and custodian transfer processes
  • Proficiency with Order Management Systems (OMS), custodial platforms, and portfolio management/rebalancing software such as Orion, Envestnet, Addepar, or similar
  • Advanced computer and analytical skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial CRM/ticketing software
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex trading concepts in clear, jargon-free conversations
  • Empathy and active listening skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and accuracy under time-sensitive market conditions
