Job Description
Trauma-informed wellness coach supporting California psychiatric patients with mindfulness, breathwork, and yoga-informed skills. Delivering remote individual coaching and virtual groups from India.
Responsibilities:
- Provide structured, non-psychotherapy wellness support to clinician-referred adult outpatients in California under the direction of their psychiatric provider
- Conduct brief individual wellness coaching sessions and initial non-diagnostic wellness consultations
- Create individualized, clinician-aligned wellness routines
- Teach safe breathwork, mindfulness, grounding, sleep-support, yoga nidra, body-scan, gentle-movement, and routine-building skills
- Facilitate live virtual groups focused on stress regulation, emotional wellness, sleep optimization, ADHD-friendly regulation, and practical skills
- Support patient adherence and consistent practice between psychiatric appointments
- Track patient-reported sleep, stress, mood, and practice adherence
- Modify wellness routines within the approved scope based on feedback, tolerance, and goals
- Help patients identify concerns to bring to their treating psychiatric provider
- Maintain group safety, privacy, professional boundaries, and respectful participation
- Document coaching activities, time spent, patient response, home-practice plans, and relevant concerns in the designated chronic care management platform
- Maintain accurate group attendance records and use approved templates and workflows
- Promptly communicate clinically relevant concerns or signs of deterioration through secure practice channels
- Participate in supervision, training, quality assurance, onboarding, and a three-month probationary period
Requirements:
- Strong spoken and written English, including clear, warm, and professional communication with U.S.-based adult patients
- Formal training and demonstrated experience in mindfulness, breathwork/pranayama, yoga-informed wellness, health coaching, or a closely related discipline
- Training in trauma-informed care and ability to facilitate practices emphasizing choice, consent, pacing, patient autonomy, and emotional safety
- Formal health-coaching education or a recognized coaching certification
- Experience supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, stress dysregulation, and/or trauma-related symptoms
- Familiarity with boundaries between wellness coaching, psychotherapy, and medical care
- Excellent active listening, rapport-building, and group-facilitation skills
- Cultural humility and awareness of U.S.-based patients' differing contexts and healthcare experiences
- Exceptional reliability, punctuality, organization, and professionalism
- Comfortable using secure patient portals, video platforms, structured documentation, and digital workflows
- Ability to complete required practice onboarding and training before seeing patients
- Contractor-provided encrypted, password-protected device; multi-factor authentication; private workspace; reliable high-speed internet; privacy-protective audio setup
- Ability to use only practice-approved, HIPAA-compliant systems
- Required confidentiality, privacy, data-security, and business-associate-related agreements
- Availability overlapping with U.S. Pacific Time, including daytime and evening hours

- Initial capacity of approximately 10–20 hours per week, ramping with patient volume
- Separate agreed flat rate for each live virtual group session facilitated
- Practice-managed payer billing; contractor is not responsible for claims, coverage determinations, billing codes, or billing patients/insurers
