Job Description
Veterinarian providing compassionate in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care for Heartstrings Pet Hospice. Supporting pets and families throughout end-of-life care across the Ann Arbor area.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate, Fear Free–aligned in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care for geriatric and terminally ill pets
- Support and guide families through the pet end-of-life process
- Build relationships with local veterinary clinics and serve as an extension of their care
- Work independently in the field with support from medical leadership, Veterinary Care Specialists, and operational teams
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
- Collaborate with medical leadership and support teams
- Participate in ongoing training, education, and clinical development
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS) from an accredited veterinary school
- Active veterinary license in the state of practice, or ability to obtain one
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Availability to work some weekends as part of a rotating schedule
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Successful background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check post-hire and before the associated start date
- Hospice, palliative care, or Fear Free certification is a plus but not required
