Job Description

Veterinary Diagnostic Consultant growing IDEXX diagnostic sales among Hong Kong veterinary practices. Selling equipment, tests, services, and laboratory solutions while expanding customer relationships and territory revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with veterinary customers through knowledgeable interactions, business discussions, and educational interactions
  • Acquire new business from existing customers and acquire new customers to increase territory revenue
  • Promote IDEXX in-house and reference laboratory diagnostic solutions to help veterinary practices grow diagnostic revenue
  • Translate customer needs into diagnostic solutions and sell diagnostic equipment, tests, and services
  • Increase utilization of in-house diagnostic tests, assays, instrument consumables, and reference laboratory profiles and advanced tests
  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue and growth goals through new-account acquisition and existing-account development
  • Use IDEXX specialists to support new-business acquisition
  • Educate and train veterinary clinic staff on products, services, and marketing initiatives
  • Develop and grow partnerships with veterinary practice staff
  • Represent IDEXX's mission, values, and principles in customer and market interactions
  • Complete sales administration, Beacon requirements, and territory-management activities
  • Attend trade shows and educational events
  • Maintain medical and technical knowledge of the veterinary industry and IDEXX products and services
  • Manage territory coverage and account planning
  • Define and verify customer needs and expectations
  • Communicate customer, service, and competitive issues to marketing and business-unit leadership
  • Coordinate with laboratory operations to handle customer questions and service issues
  • Manage IDEXX expenses and resources according to company guidelines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Typically 3–5 years of field sales and/or equivalent inside sales experience
  • Demonstrated strong sales and closing skills
  • Documented track record of achieving sales goals
  • Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop, grow, and manage customer relationships
  • Ability to understand customer needs and develop customer-specific solutions
  • Creativity in solving problems and ability to work with team partners
  • Professional maturity and adaptability to independent and team-oriented environments
  • Passion for business and drive to achieve results

  • Knowledge of the veterinary industry and/or veterinary diagnostics preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel overnight and extensively by car
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Some field sales and/or equivalent inside sales experience
  • Scientific, medical, and/or technical background, training, and/or experience preferred
  • Veterinary clinic experience a plus
