Job Description
VP managing indirect equipment-finance originations for Axos Bank. Buying third-party transactions, overseeing funding partnerships, and driving annual indirect sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Buy all small (app only) and large ticket (full financial package) originations generated by third parties, including banks, non-banks, and captives
- Direct deal buys from select banks with established or prospective funding relationships
- Target transactions meeting Verdant risk-adjusted return requirements and predetermined credit parameters
- Assist outside sales representatives in buying repetitive or opportunistic portfolios from vendor captives and independent finance companies
- Support sourced deals, including onboarding funding partners, preparing credit write-ups, coordinating documentation with Operations, and handling funding items with Finance/Accounting
- Represent Indirect Sales in the Chief Commercial Officer’s weekly MM meetings
- Manage existing funder partnerships, including oversight of the Servicer Reporting Function
- Engage and formalize new funding partner relationships with support from the Chief Commercial Officer
- Achieve Verdant’s annual indirect sales target through small-ticket and large-ticket originations
- Manage macro issue topics and opportunities for company consideration
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in formal bank credit training program
- Analytical skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Strong credit background in equipment finance
- At least 5 years combined of credit, sales, and/or capital markets in equipment finance
- Leadership and supervision of Capital Markets functions including identification and set up of funding partner relationships, portfolio or individual app only buy processes, ability to present an underwriting of a large ticket transaction, understanding of pricing, and discounting including effect of residual dynamics
- Successfully pass a credit check, criminal background check, and pre-employment drug screening, including screening for marijuana
- Employment eligibility verification through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-Verify program
