Job Description

VP of Finance owning FP&A, treasury, accounting, and board reporting for a national high-dosage tutoring company. Strategic thought partner to the CEO during growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Own forecasting, annual planning, scenario modeling, and long-range financial planning
  • Build an operating cadence around important financial and operating KPIs
  • Help leaders make hiring, spending, and investment decisions and hold teams accountable for budgets
  • Own cash forecasting, working capital, treasury, and liquidity management
  • Oversee external accounting partners, AP/AR, tax coordination, and financial controls
  • Support major customer, vendor, and partnership negotiations with rigorous financial analysis
  • Partner with the CEO on Board materials, investor communications, fundraising, and strategic financial matters
  • Turn ambiguous business questions into structured analysis, recommendations, and action
  • Drive important cross-functional problems to resolution
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and leadership team; report directly to the CEO

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience across strategic finance, FP&A, finance leadership, BizOps, consulting, banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or similar roles
  • Meaningful operating experience inside a growing company
  • Strong command of financial statements, accounting, forecasting, cash management, unit economics, and corporate finance
  • Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Experience using data and analysis to influence major business decisions
  • Experience presenting to executive teams and/or Boards
  • Experience building better systems, processes, and operating cadences
  • Judgment to know when to stay at 30,000 feet and when to get into the weeds
  • Experience with B2B services, education, technology-enabled services, M&A, fundraising, or transactional work is helpful but not required
