Job Description

z/OS System Programmer maintaining and modernizing mission-critical mainframe infrastructure for DXC Technology. Supporting z/OS operations, LPAR projects, security, performance, and distributed EU teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure and maintain z/OS and its associated software components
  • Execute builds, migrations, refresh, CPU swaps and LPAR build/decommission projects
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support and participate in disaster recovery drills
  • Manage security profiles, access control and I/O configuration
  • Analyze system performance using SMF data
  • Maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Lead and mentor a remote team distributed across several EU countries

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in z/OS system programming
  • Strong command of z/OS architecture, system commands, utilities and troubleshooting
  • Experience with system management tools and automation
  • Good level of English
  • Leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • z/OS certification or related field
  • Experience with JES, IMS, CICS
  • Knowledge of REXX or COBOL
  • Experience with cloud-based mainframe environments
