These locally-rooted changemakers will make their communities stronger, shift the narrative about which communities are worthy of investment, build friendships across lines of difference, and bring their experiences and relationships with one another to the highest levels of leadership in their communities for decades to come.LFA's flagship initiative is the American Connection Corps, the nation's premier AmeriCorps service program focused on advancing economic prosperity in rural and emerging communities.

Through a one-year paid service placement with a local government agency or nonprofit, ACC helps exceptional people launch their careers and fulfill what's possible in the places where success is too often defined as “leaving and never coming back.” ACC alumni form a bench of local leaders who can bridge divides and spark needed change in the places they call home, ensuring that every corner of America has the great public servants it deserves.
