Job Description

Account Manager Associate supporting insurance verification, authorizations, and documentation for CarepathRx infusion and specialty pharmacy services. Coordinating patients’ transitions to home-based care.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Account Management team with customer and patient service needs across Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy programs
  • Complete insurance verification activities and accurately document coverage details in the patient management system
  • Enter and maintain patient demographics, services, payer information, and other required records
  • Obtain insurance authorizations and precertifications required for specialty or infusion services
  • Communicate benefit details, price quotes, and financial responsibilities to referral sources, patients, caregivers, and family members
  • Coordinate payment agreements, financial assistance forms, advance beneficiary notices, and payer-required documentation
  • Partner with referral sources and liaisons to gather supporting documentation needed to qualify patients for coverage
  • Follow up with hospital staff regarding potential discharges and coordinate next steps under Account Manager guidance
  • Notify servicing agencies of delivery timing and coordinate orders and documentation needed for patient care
  • Protect patient confidentiality while delivering courteous, reliable, and responsive customer service

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of customer service, healthcare administration, insurance verification, billing, collections, or related experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and computer-based patient or business systems
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, caregivers, referral sources, payers, agencies, and internal partners
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality work
  • Demonstrated reliability, follow-through, and customer-service orientation
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and business information
  • If working at home occasionally or permanently, cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload
  • Associate degree or equivalent business or healthcare experience (preferred)
  • Two or more years of experience in durable medical equipment, enteral services, billing, collections, or insurance verification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, payer requirements, Medicare documentation, or prior authorization processes (preferred)
  • Experience supporting infusion, specialty pharmacy, or home-based patient services (preferred)
