Job Description
Accounting Lead owning month-end close and financial reporting for Meow, which provides startups with business accounts, corporate cards, bookkeeping, tax, and reporting. Managing client portfolios and preparer teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage client relationships
- Own the creation, review, and issuance of accurate and timely monthly financials for 20-40 clients
- Manage and train the preparer team for high-quality financials and strong client margins
- Communicate with clients via Slack and email, answering questions and obtaining information for closes
- Clean and set up new sets of books for newly signed clients
- Improve processes and systems in a high-autonomy role
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of month-end close and financial reporting
- Experience reviewing the work of others (bookkeepers or junior accountants)
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
- Clear communicator, comfortable working directly with founders
