Job Description
Adjunct nursing professor delivering online RN-BSN and MSN education for Unitek Learning, a healthcare education organization. Facilitating courses, evaluating students, and supporting accreditation initiatives remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Provide online course facilitation for post-licensure programs
- Deliver online instruction in RN-BSN or MSN programs at one or more Unitek Learning colleges or Workforce Solutions
- Instruct students using existing curriculum for assigned classes
- Improve instruction quality through innovative methodologies and teaching techniques
- Assist with reviewing and revising syllabi and instructional guidelines
- Evaluate students’ progress toward curriculum and course objectives and communicate progress timely
- Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives
- Maintain student attendance and grade records and assist with program data collection
- Use the Learning Management System to deliver relevant and current course content
- Provide ongoing student communication through office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods
- Participate in professional development and maintain continuing-education hours for renewed licensure
- Work with a multicultural and multigenerational student body
- Serve as subject matter expert for university and accreditation requirements/reporting
- Conduct weekly recorded synchronous sessions via Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx, or similar platforms for courses with unit/final exams
- Hold a minimum of two office hours weekly
- Perform other duties assigned by the Assistant Dean
Requirements:
- Living OUTSIDE the state of CA is a requirement
- Registered Nurse with current and unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure or eligible in all states where MSN programs are established
- Registered Nurse with current and unencumbered licensure in California
- Master's Degree in Nursing required
- Terminal Degree in Nursing (DNP, EdD, PhD) required
- Current knowledge of nursing practice
- Ability to mentor students
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- At least 3 years’ experience in direct patient care as an RN
- Minimum of 1-year previous pre-licensure nursing online teaching experience required utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Documented background in educational methodology, including education theory and practice, current concepts relative to subjects taught, current clinical practice experience, and distance education techniques and delivery
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS office products as needed
