Job Description

Admissions Advisor guiding Iowa students through CIEE study abroad applications. Advising on programs, hosting recruitment events, and driving application conversions for nonprofit international education.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an admissions expert, advising students on appropriate CIEE programs based on academic interests, goals, and eligibility
  • Provide hands-on guidance as students begin, complete, and submit CIEE applications
  • Offer individualized support to students
  • Manage high-volume email and phone communications and respond within one working day
  • Schedule prompt follow-up with prospective students and assess commitment
  • Execute strategies to inform students about CIEE programs throughout the inquiry and application process
  • Organize and host information sessions, webinars, tabling events, and classroom presentations
  • Support recruitment, training, and supervision of CIEE Student Ambassadors on campus
  • Guide Student Ambassador outreach strategies and activities with the Manager of Institutional Relations
  • Work with Institutional Relations Managers to align with partner institution goals and provide ground-level insights
  • Achieve personal and team qualitative and quantitative targets, including completed applications and conversion rates
  • Document call information and enter data into Salesforce CRM
  • Participate in regular training on CIEE program offerings, policies, and tools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent
  • Experience in student advising, customer service, higher education, or a sales-oriented field
  • Study abroad experience strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting to groups and working one-on-one
  • Strong attention to detail and exemplary problem-solving skills
  • Professional written and oral communication skills
  • Service-oriented mindset
  • High aptitude for organization and excellent time management skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and remotely as part of a team
  • Initiative and openness to feedback and direction
  • Fluency in day-to-day computer use, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to use technology to improve performance
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

  • Currently based in Iowa
  • Successful completion of background check, reference check, and education and employment verification as conditions of employment
